Nation

What is nationalism? This is the preservation and constant unlimited growth of the national blood-spiritual community of people.

The nationalist sees the Nation as a living blood-spiritual being, which has no limits for its growth and development. The representatives of the nation must eliminate all obstacles on this path.

The Ukrainian nation is an integral part of the Caucasian race. Nation is not the same as race. A race is a collection of people with similar biological characteristics and basic archetypes.

What is a Nation?

“A nation is eternity,” teaches Ukrainian nationalism. Its roots grow from the depths of centuries, and the movement of development is directed to the incomprehensible future,” wrote the ideologist of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Lieutenant Colonel Mykola Stsiborsky, in his work “Nationocracy” in 1935.

Back in 1845, Kobzar of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko outlined the Ukrainian Nation as a community of “the dead, the living and the unborn.” The nature of the Ukrainian Nation lies in the fact that it is made up not of individual units, but of families, because the connection mentioned above is possible only in families.

The Ukrainian family is a Nation in a reduced form, because both the family and the Nation are built on a common principle – a blood-spiritual connection. How strong is the institution of the family in the Nation, how healthy hierarchical relations operate in it – how great is its potential for growth and development, or resistance and protection from competitors / enemies. There is a famous story when Lycurgus, the king and legislator of Sparta, answered a man who wanted to establish democracy in Sparta: “First, you establish democracy at home”. He answered this way because the Nation is based on the family: a weak family is a weak Nation and vice versa.

A nation brings together families with a common origin, culture, language, territory of residence, economic ties, a common history of experiences and fateful events.

The ideologist of Ukrainian nationalism Yuriy Lipa, in his article “Ukrainian Race” of 1936, wrote about the primary value of the institution of the family for the national state: “The state cannot be the bearer of order when there is no order in the families that make up the state. Here we recall once again that a people, a clan (discarding someone else’s word “race”) – this is what was born, what was born in greater numbers, is connected by one blood. Neither the male nor the female unit is responsible for the future of the clan – the family is responsible for it. In the fact that in the defense of fertility (against abortion masters and unreason) the family once again becomes a building-block of statehood. In addition to the duration of the family in the clan, the state also needs the duration of the family in labor. The family is important not only as a chain of blood heritage, but also as tradition of work. For a warrior to be a good warrior, it is necessary that he comes from a military family, and even better – from a number of military families. Similarly, a priest is from a priestly, a worker is from a worker, or even more: a sailor is from a sailor’s, a locksmith is from a locksmith’s, and a shoemaker is from a kind of shoemakers. Then they will master their labor when they have it in their blood, in the generations of the family.”

The highest manifestation of the organization of the Nation is the State. Nikolai Stsiborsky gives an excellent description of it in “Nationocracy”: “The state is the vital realization of the nation; it is a means of ensuring, improving and enriching its existence, as well as signifying its historical role among other nations. In the nationalist worldview, the nation and the state act as an integral and highest goal in its ideological and real value, signified by the concept of a state nation. Only a state nation has a chance for a place under the sun in a world of continuous struggle. The State is the means which gathers all the forces of the Nation into one fist, and directs it to destroy the obstacles in its path. Only a Nation that has its own state can fully reproduce its leading layer, pursue its geopolitics, achieve results in science, culture, economics, etc.

However, there are also non-state nations. They had their own state, but lost it. In Europe, such examples are the Basques, Catalans, Scots, Welsh and Bretons. Such were the Ukrainians after 1921 (with outbreaks of statehood in 1938-1939, 1941, 1943-1945, 1963-1972).

Non-state nations can have their own autonomies (Autonomous Region of Catalonia, Basque Country, Wales, Scotland). Autonomous system allows them to save the language, culture, traditions, original ethnic identity. The administrative apparatus is at the same time a state apparatus in miniature, just as the local police are state power structures in miniature. Culture has an official status and an opportunity for preservation and development.

If there is no autonomy, then the non-state nation retains itself through the formation of organizations that unite the idealistic elite of this nation. The brightest examples:

for the Basques, this is ETA (Euskadi and Askatasuna – Baskonia and Will),

for the Bretons – the Liberation Front of Brittany,

for us – OUN (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists).

The presence in the environment of the Nation of a group of persons who preserve the idea of the National State, develop it theoretically, feed it with blood, sacrificing their lives for it – this is the guarantee of the continuation of the existence of the Nation, although without a state. The nation sees that the idea of its statehood has not disappeared if life is laid down for it. He sees that there is a way that can lead the Nation to a better future.

When the national liberation organization disappears and nothing of the kind is born in its place, then the stateless nation either assimilates into the ruling nation or becomes an ethnos. An ethnic group also has a common origin and culture, territory, but its representatives do not have an inclination to create their own state, which is manifested in the absence of political elite. Representatives of an ethnic group realize themselves only within the limits of the ruling nation and do not claim either the development of their culture (at best, preservation), or political or economic independence from the host state. The ethnos honors its past, but does not see its future. It has its own culture, language, traditions, but their preservation is not a priority for the ethnic group.

An example of such a degradation of the nation are the Egyptians. They gave birth to the great and ancient Egyptian civilization, the second state in the world. The Egyptian kingdom existed from 3000 BC, until 670 BC, when the Assyrians captured it. After a period of independence, it was taken over by the Persians and then by Alexander the Great. After his death in 305 BC, Ptolemy, one of the best commanders of Macedonia, began to rule in Egypt. He granted Egypt its independence, laid the foundation for a new dynasty of pharaohs. A new flowering of Egypt took place on the basis of the synthesis of Egyptian and Greek culture and political elites. In AD 30, Egypt was conquered by the consul of the Roman Republic, Julius Caesar. Egypt no longer knew national independence. In 645, Egypt suffered an Arab invasion, in which ethnic Egyptians dissolve. The Egyptians of present day are Arabs. All that remains is the Coptic Christian church of the Eastern rite, common in Egypt. All services in it are conducted in Coptic, which is a very modified ancient Egyptian language. Copts are an ethnically religious group, but they keep their identity exclusively in the religious plane. The Copts switched from Egyptian to Arabic in the 18th century. They are fully politically, culturally and economically included in the life of Arab Egypt. The autochthonous Egyptian nation is dead.

However, one can return from an ethnos to a nation. An excellent example is the Cornwall people, the indigenous population of Cornwall, the south-western county of Great Britain. The Cornwall people are Celts, from 410 on the territory of Cornwall there was the state of Dumnonia, which in 927 fell into the vassal dependence of England, and in the middle of the XII century lost its autonomy. The last organized military-political performance of the Cornwall people was during the Civil War in England 1642-1652, when they supported the English King Charles I. However, he lost, and this region was devastated by the army of the revolutionary Cromwell. In 2008, only about 3.5 thousand roots know their native language. In the 90s, only 5% of Cornwall residents called themselves Cornwall people, in 2001 – 17%, in 2007 – 26%. Most importantly, the ethnic group has a national future, because 41% of Cornwall schoolchildren in 2011 recognized themselves being more Cornwall people than English. Cornwall does not have a national self-government body, as, for example, Wales and Scotland. The Cornwall people began to revive the national elite in the form of the Sons of Cornwall party and the Nationalist Party of Cornwall.

The sons of Cornwall are in favor of moderate autonomy for this region, they have 5 seats out of 123 in the local parliament (until 2005 there were 0, the party had not a single deputy from 1970-2005). In 2002, this party collected 50,000 signatures for the creation of a national parliament for Cornwall. In April 2014, the English authorities recognized Cornish as an ethnic minority language with teaching and record keeping rights in Cornwall. This is an example of how the state nation of the Cornwall people has passed the stateless stage and is now an ethnic group that has every chance to be reborn as a nation.

In Ukraine, ethnic groups are Karaites and Krymchaks in Crimea. They do not claim statehood or autonomy, their culture does not develop, and there is no political elite.

A nation, being a living organism, cannot become isolated in itself. In this case, sooner or later, incest will begin, which will lead to an increase in genetic abnormalities and a decrease in the biological strength of the Nation. Any nation has the ability to assimilate – the ability to “digest” a certain set of foreigners. The larger the nation, the greater its assimilation ability.

Likewise, the Ukrainian Nation cannot become isolated in itself, but it cannot turn into a multicultural mixture either. Accordingly, we can include in our national community only representatives of European and kindred nations who profess common European values and worldview with us, but have regional differences and variations. Therefore, their assimilation will not lead to radical changes in the nature and culture of the Ukrainian Nation.

By Ukrainianizing foreigners, we set a condition that determines whether a European of non-Ukrainian origin can become a Ukrainian. This condition is the ability to shed blood for Ukraine or give away your weighty scientific baggage. Only this examination is the true proof, for:

in the first case, a person is ready to join the community of experiences and the struggle of the Ukrainian Nation for existence, to stand side by side with its dead soldiers;

in the second case, a person is ready to sacrifice a large period of his life devoted to the scientific development of a certain topic, which has achieved success and the intellectual treasure of his people.

We oppose the concept of a civic nation, as it is now common in the world. The presence of a passport does not give a sense of inclusion in the Nation, does not give a blood connection with its ethnic basis. Citizenship is not a well-established concept – during life, you can change your passport more than once, and you can have several at the same time. How can you determine the nationality of the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who has Ukrainian, Israeli and Cypriot passports? There are national communities that are not fundamentally in the majority not passportized, and if they are passportized, then with the passports of different countries – these are Bedouins, gypsies, Jews. All of them, despite the presence or absence of the same passports, feel part of one national organism. A good example of this is the life story of Mark Paslavsky.

Markiyan Grigory Paslavsky was born on January 16, 1959 in the United States in New York in a family of Ukrainian emigrants from the Ternopil region. However, he spent his childhood in New Jersey. In 1944, his family fled from the village Krushelnitsia, because they were threatened with exile to Siberia. Then the Moscow communist authorities fought the UPA in such a way – they destroyed its base, which was the majority of the population of Western Ukraine. In the USA, the Paslavsky family preserved national traditions, so little Mark was sent to Plast, a Ukrainian scout organization that teaches young people to the spirit of militarism and cherishes national dignity. In America, Mark made a successful military career – he graduated from the legendary West Point Military Academy. After graduating from West Point, Mark served in the US Army for 5 years, completing his service with the rank of captain. He served 2 years in Turkey, where he was responsible for the codes that activated nuclear warheads in the event of a large-scale war between the US and the USSR. He also served in the 75th US Special Operations Forces Ranger Regiment.

In 1991, he, a 32-year-old captain, left to look at the country of his parents, which gained independence. Marko Paslavsky wanted to join the development of the new state. He moved to Ukraine. First, he worked as a sales manager for steel products abroad in Mariupol at Azovstal. Then he became an investment banker, worked in Kyiv, Kharkov, Moscow.

April 18, 1998 Paslavsky created his own business in Ukraine. He took up agribusiness, created a private enterprise “Rosava-K”. The enterprise developed successfully, and Markiyan himself became a millionaire.

In 2004, he supported the peaceful Orange Revolution, which prevented the pro-Russian candidate, Viktor Yanukovych, from coming to power due to falsifications – Mark Paslavsky took part in the Maidan protests in Kyiv.

When the Revolution of Dignity began in 2013-2014, he also joined it. At the revolution, he celebrated his 55th anniversary. On February 20, 2014, he went on the assault on the street Institutskaya with a shield and a stick in the forefront. Markian could fill up the Heavenly Hundred, because many of his brethren died from sniper bullets that day. However, he survived to continue his fight.

After the revolution, the war with Muscovy began. Marko Paslavsky could be a volunteer, he could just help volunteers or become an informational speaker between Ukraine and the Western world. With his knowledge and experience, he could be useful to Ukraine without exposing himself to mortal danger. But under the jacket of a successful businessman and investment banker lived the spirit of a warrior.

Markian wanted to take part in the war in the East of Rus-Ukraine, but before that he had to perform a symbolic act. He wanted to go into battle not just as an ethnic Ukrainian, but as a citizen of Ukraine. Therefore, in the spring of 2014, he went through all the bureaucratic procedures and received the desired passport with a trident. In April, Markiyan Paslavsky became a citizen of Ukraine.

Mark joined the Donbass volunteer battalion. He was trained and wanted to take the pseudo “Taras”, in honor of Taras Shevchenko. But it was already taken. Then he took the pseudo Franko in honor of the Ukrainian politician, poet, translator and philosopher Ivan Franko. Marko dreamed of two main things: to overthrow the monument to Lenin in the liberated Donetsk and to destroy the modern Ukrainian political elite.

After the liberation of Ilovaisk, Franko planned to go to the USA to his mother, and then return to the front again. After the victory, he wanted to sell his apartment in Lviv and buy a hut in the Carpathians.

On August 19, 2014, Markiyan Paslavsky died in the Ilovaisk cauldron, covering the retreat of his people. According to some recollections, he received 3 bullets, according to others, he died as a result of an explosion of an enemy frag grenade. The brethren recounted that his last words were: “I dreamed of becoming a real Ukrainian. I hope I become one. It hurts so much and I don’t want to die!”

Markiyan Paslavsky was Ukrainian from birth, working for the benefit of our economy and participating in the Revolution of Dignity (without Ukrainian citizenship), and going to the front as a volunteer with a brand new passport of Ukraine. It was not the passport that determined his nationality, but the soul and the call of the blood!

There is nothing more stable than blood affiliation and spiritual kinship with one’s relatives and a large family – the Nation. Therefore, the life of the Ukrainian Nation is the highest value for the Ukrainian nationalist. This is the Idea of the Nation – in the eternal life of our super-family called the Ukrainian Nation, its protection, growth and comprehensive development.
